Description

“Object art” is not the beginning idea of my graduation project, “Physics” and “Reflection of light” by laser beam is my original idea. But based on social situations and Corona virus, all the lessons changed to online and the space is limited. Therefore, my project was forced to be changed again and again.

2019 - 2020 should be the final year in my “university life”, and the most complicated social situation since I was born. So, I wish to use my graduate project to record down what has happened in 2019, an artwork that may remind us what is the history in 2019 in the future.

This artwork is an object art and applied projection mapping artwork. After I finished this artwork, I realized I did not study enough and know much. On the contrary, through this graduation work, I became more proactive to know more about different kinds of knowledge in art.

Apart from learning a different kind of knowledge , I also hope that, whether I or others see this artwork again, will they remember the image or history in front of them belongs to which year.

About

This work mainly depicts what has happened in Hong Kong in 2019. This artwork mainly made by concrete, displayed in a rectangular form, but also sorted as a timeline. It is combined by object art, projection mapping, light and video design. It does not include any obvious content, only using the flickering color light and sound effect to drive the rhythm of the work to express the meaning and atmosphere.

Through the online research keyword “Look back on 2019” and “The most unforgettable moments in 2019”, I searched some common dates and news. Therefore, I decide to rebuild those moments.I don’t use a very obvious description of this work, the main reason is that I hope to record the history with an objective identity to make everyone see it objectively too. I don’t want to restrict the people who read this artwork through a certain image or a certain shape. I don’t think an artwork should have any limited or regulations.

Besides, I also hope that this work can become something like historical records in the past which were used for record history . When people have a chance to read to this artwork again, what image will be appeared in their mind? This is the most curious question for me.
